This Autumn, join Muscular Dystrophy UK and warm your toes by the fire by taking part in our first ever charity Fire Walking event in Northern Ireland. By the time you’ve crossed the embers you’ll have funded at least nine hours of ground breaking research making a difference to the lives of 2,000 people affected by muscle wasting conditions in Northern Ireland and 70,000 across the whole of the UK.
The event is supported by Mid Ulster Council and will coincide with their Spooktacular Fire works event at the Hill of the O’Neill, on Friday 27 October, so with over 3,000 people expected at the event you will have plenty of people to cheer you on and to give you a night to remember.
Claire O’Hanlon, Regional Development Manager for Northern Ireland with Muscular Dystrophy UK and lead with the Leap for Luke Family Fund said:
I’ve been on the lookout for fun and creative fundraising ideas that get the adrenaline flowing while also getting communities involved and raising the profile of the charity locally. Fire Walking seemed like the perfect way to do that. We chose to run the event in Dungannon due to the huge levels of support shown to our fundraising group Leap for Luke by the people of South Tyrone and Mid Ulster and because, based just off the motorway, Dungannon is really accessible for all parts of Northern Ireland so people from anywhere can take part. I’m so excited about the event and can’t wait to meet all of our fantastic supporters as they sign up to put the heat on muscle wasting conditions
