Claiming Gift Aid Donate

Claiming Gift Aid can make your gifts worth 25% more – at no extra cost to you.

Gift Aid is an income tax scheme that allows charities to reclaim the tax that you have paid on your donations through UK income tax or capital gains tax.

All individual donations are eligible for the scheme – including regular gifts made through Standing Orders and Direct Debits.

We can claim Gift Aid on donations made in the last four years and on future donations once we receive your Gift Aid declaration.

Gift Aid adds an additional 25% onto eligible donations – so, for example, every eligible £10 becomes £12.50 and every eligible £100 becomes £125.

To allow us to claim Gift Aid on your donations, please complete and submit a Gift Aid declaration form below or alternatively print and return this printable form:

*I confirm I am a UK tax payer and I would like Muscular Dystrophy UK to reclaim the tax on all qualifying personal donations I have made in the past 4 years as well as any future donations until I notify them otherwise. I understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations in that tax year it is my responsibility to pay any difference.
