In 2016, Martin Hywood, who lives in Aylesbury and has Limb Girdle muscular dystrophy, committed to walking 14 individual miles around the UK’s most famous sporting sites. In 2017, Martin wanted to go even bigger. And for Martin, this means taking on a mountain, Mount Snowdon to be precise.

On July 1, Martin succeeded in getting a group of over 30 people to the top of Mount Snowdon all to raise awareness and funds for Muscular Dystrophy UK, and moving an incredible 337.5 miles in the process. Martin himself states that he experienced “the biggest pain he had ever felt” but it was all worth it and he wanted to prove, as always:

If I can, you can too

In addition to Martin’s Snowdon challenge, he has already completed a very special Move a Mile for Martin which you can read about here, will be taking part in Parallel London and hold an event at the Aristocrat Pub, where he hopes to get even more people moving a mile! Thank you Martin for your amazing efforts!

Feeling inspired by Martin? Why not organise your own Move a Mile for Muscles event?
