Colleen and Jamie Pentony have set up Fight for Alfie Fund to raise funds for Muscular Dystrophy UK’s Duchenne Research Breakthrough Fund.

Alfie, who is now four years old, was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy when he was three years old.  After a difficult journey consisting of numerous trips back and forth from the hospital, countless blood tests and biopsies, Alfie was finally diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

Then came the news no parents want to hear… he does have Duchenne muscular dystrophy

The family have rallied together and plan to raise vital funds to support research work into effective treatments for Alfie and other boys affected by Duchenne.

We have felt every emotion you can imagine over the last few months but there is one that keeps us going … DETERMINATION

The family have kick started their fundraising and have a strong network of family, friends and members of the local community.

They have set up their own fundraising committee and organised a New Year’s Day swim, coffee mornings and skydives around the world with many more exciting events planned.
