Ryan’s Rebels is a family fund set up by Andrew and Tracey Brown for their 7-year-old son Ryan, who has Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
When Ryan was younger, his parents noticed that his crawling and walking was delayed. He was falling regularly, struggling with stairs, and unable to keep up with kids of the same age as him, or even children younger than him.
Andrew and Tracey took Ryan for blood tests at Rainbow House in Irvine, where they found high levels of enzymes in his blood. They diagnosed him with Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
Ryan now receives hydrotherapy, steroid and physiotherapy treatment.
Andrew and Tracey have a whole range of fundraising events and activities planned for the coming year, including our very own skydive series: Make Today Count.
All funds from the Brown family’s efforts will go into crucial research into potential treatments for Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
You can show your support to the Brown family on the Ryan’s Rebels Facebook page.
