Claire joined Muscular Dystrophy UK in April 2017 as Regional Development Manager for Northern Ireland. Claire comes from a business development background and prior to joining the charity she worked as a business advisor and trainer providing support to new and existing businesses in Northern Ireland.

Claire had been involved with the charity for several years prior to joining the team and for the 2016/17 year she was chair of the Northern Ireland Council of Muscular Dystrophy UK where she led the council on working with MLAs and health professionals to help set and achieve the charity’s priorities in Northern Ireland. Claire has also been a Peer Support Volunteer, providing essential post diagnosis support to parents whose children had been diagnosed with Duchenne and she has represented the charity at numerous events and through various media channels.

Claire’s young son Luke has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and Claire runs one of our Family Funds, Leap for Luke. So Claire has first hand experience in living with the condition and working to build awareness and fundraising.
