In just over a week one of our brave supporters, Natalie Maloney is heading to Orlando. Here, she will be jumping out of a plane at 13,000ft to raise money for Muscular Dystrophy UK.
Natalie’s family has been affected by Facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (FSH), a genetic muscle-wasting condition affecting around 2,500 people in the UK. Natalie’s fundraising will go towards researching a cure for this condition and she has already raised an incredible £1,500!
Natalie is not the only fundraiser in the family, her aunt Natalie Woodcock also supports Muscular Dystrophy UK and has raised over £70,000 since 2012 with the Worksop Fundraising Group.
“I’m really excited for the jump now – it’s just over a week before I’ll be taking part in my first sky dive! It’s been really overwhelming how generous people have been supporting me to raise money for such a great charity. It means a lot to me and my family how kind people have been and how we are raising awareness to support the research. My family have done a lot of different great things to raise money and I wanted to contribute by doing something that we haven’t done previously. I’m very grateful for all of the donations and look forward to completing my first sky dive”.
