On December 29th i went Slimbridge in gloucestershire, www.wwt.org.uk. I wanted to use thé accessible lift to thé tower overlooking the whole centre. But the assistant at the door of the tower wouldnt let me use the lift, she said that if thé lift broke down or there was a fire that no one would be able to get me down again, basically it was a health and safety risk. But if i got out of my powered wheelchair and walked then i could leave it in the wheelchair park they had. Real shame because the rest of the centre was near enough totally accessible.
The mention of Health and Safety seems to be coming up alot more lately, it always seems to be used as an excuse not to do something. Do other Trailblazers have stories to tell where health and safety is used to stop you doing something?
