Muscular Dystrophy UK is working alongside individuals and families affected by muscle-wasting conditions, health professionals and NHS commissioners to improve healthcare in the UK. We currently run various campaigns on different areas of care to ensure no matter where someone lives in the UK they are safe in the knowledge that they will receive best-practice care both within specialist neuromuscular centres and community settings.
Much of this work stems from the charity’s Bridging the Gap project which was funded by the Department of Health for three years. You can read about the achievements of the project in our legacy document which details the work carried out by the project.
