Looking to develop your skills, use your expertise or meet some great new friends? Find out more about volunteering at Muscular Dystrophy UK, and how you can join a team that helps to deliver active change for people living with a muscle-wasting condition.

Whether you are new to the charity or have known us for years join us on Saturday 8 June 2019 at Holiday Inn London – Gatwick Airport, Povey Cross Road, Horley, Surrey, RH6 0BA. Registration begins at 10:30am and the day runs until 3:30pm with a lunch included.

We strive to fund research in to cures and treatments for all muscle-wasting conditions but also know the importance of supporting people today. Using your experience and skills as part of our team we can ensure people throughout the country are properly supported, and our progress is in line with the needs of all our supporters.

You will hear about a variety of ways you can get involved in the charity and from some current volunteers about their experiences. There is also a great opportunity to meet others and feed in to discussion about the charity.

Some of the ways people can get involved (and you will hear about on the day) are:

  • Helping us decide where to fund research
  • Supporting our TalkMD online forum
  • Directly support another person living with a condition
  • Helping deliver our muscle groups
  • Sharing your experience to improve NHS services and drive national campaigns
  • Making sure our content and information continues to be of a high standard
  • Developing new and innovative ways to fundraise
  • Getting work experience at our London office

Muscular Dystrophy UK is committed to provide a range of volunteering opportunities accessible to all, these reduce the travel required and allow remote contribution as much as possible for each role.

Muscular Dystrophy UK has a new volunteering project in London and the South East to improve the support we give to volunteers, this is a really exciting time to get involved and there is something for everyone. You will hear about the project on the day and have loads of opportunity to get involved. There is no commitment to sign up on the day but you have a great opportunity to hear about the many ways you can help to make every day count.
