Fundraising in memory Give and fundraise in memory

Raising money through events is a wonderful way to come together with friends and family to celebrate the life of a loved one.

We have a wide range of fundraising events you can get involved in, from bake sales to skydives. And if you have your own ideas on how you’d like to raise money, MDUK will support you to hold your own event too.

With an MDUK Remembrance Tribute, every penny raised through an event will be added to their page – so you can see just how much has been raised in memory of your loved one.

My eldest son Paul loved life and lived it to the full. He was bright, accomplished and his positivity left a mark on the people lucky enough to know him. He used to say that if he had his life again, he wouldn’t change anything about it – not even his muscle-wasting condition.

Before Paul died just over four years ago, he calmly told us that he’d written his own funeral plans. When he passed away, we found out that he wanted us to hold a disco for his wake. He loved a party.

When we started fundraising in Paul’s memory, a disco felt like the perfect way to start raising money for Muscular Dystrophy UK. Since then we’ve done all kinds of fundraising and set up a page in his memory on
paulpeterson.muchloved.com.

This means we can let people know what fundraising event we’re doing next and how they can get involved. It is also a way for us to keep Paul’s memory alive and to help MDUK continue their work to find treatments for muscle-wasting conditions like his. - Anne Peterson
