Beating Duchenne muscular dystrophy is a massive challenge requiring a collective effort, but there has never been a better time to join us – together, we can win the fight

By donating to the Fund you can really help us make a difference:

  • If 20 people donated/raised £1,000 this year it would fully fund Professor Woods to develop biomarkers. If successful, these biomarkers could be used to improve diagnosis, measure the progression of the condition more accurately and assess the benefit of drugs in clinical trials without the painful procedure of muscle biopsies.
  • If 150 people gave £10 a month for one year we would fully fund Professor Jenny Morgan Dickson and her PhD student at University College London to investigate new ways of improving the efficiency of stem cell transplantation in degenerating muscles.
  • A gift or fundraising collection raising £170 would fund Professor Dame Kay Davies’ research into up-regulation of utrophin for one day.

We work closely with scientists, clinicians, politicians, other charities and, above all, families and individuals living with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, to maximise potential and minimise duplication.

Investment in the Duchenne Research Breakthrough Fund can only be made thanks to individual donations, family fundraising activities, trusts and corporate support for this cause. Every penny counts.

Please donate online and support the Duchenne Research Breakthrough Fund.
