The renowned restaurant critic William Sitwell will host an exclusive evening of cooking and wine pairings with the chef Jesse Dunford Wood to raise money for MDUK – and you can join in from the comfort of your kitchen.
William and Jesse – both regular Masterchef critics infamous for their expertise – will share insider tips during an evening of entertainment between 7pm-8.30pm on Thursday April 29.
William will take guests on a guided wine tasting of three bottles and Jesse will show how to make two delicious British dishes. Guests can also ask questions in a rare Q&A session during the evening, which is being held over Zoom.
How can you get involved?
Tickets cost just £125 per household and can be purchased on Cookalong.TV’s website.
The delivery and cost of the three wines are included in this price and will be posted out to participants in advance. Menus will also be sent out for guests to purchase ingredients ahead of the event.
The evening is a collaboration between MDUK and Cookalong.TV. More than half the proceeds will go to MDUK, ensuring we can continue our vital work for people living with muscle-wasting conditions. The remainder will go towards Cookalong.TV’s charitable events. William said:
“I’m really excited to collaborate with Jesse. It’s such a pleasure to match some of my wines to his food and I can’t wait for our conversation on the night. Every penny we raise on the night for MDUK will be a heartfelt contribution to those who live with muscle-wasting conditions.”
“When coming up with the menus I focused on recipes that were simple, seasonal, accessible and delicious – but also that we cook here at our own restaurant! I absolutely love interactive cooking so I am sure there’ll be some great chat with William. Hopefully I can teach our guests a few tricks to help to raise a ton of money for a great cause.”
What’s on the menu?
William will kick the evening off with an aperitif of sparkling Charles De Fere Blance de Blancs. Next, Jesse will walk viewers through his simple Green Goddess Soup, which will be paired with the white Badet Clement Revelation Viognier 2019.
Guests will also cook Jesse’s main of Remarkable Brined and Grilled Pork Chops, accompanied with a selection of roasted and baked vegetables. The pork can be substituted for chicken or cauliflower, and the dish will be paired with the red Montaldo Organic Nero’Davola 2019.
