Response to Fiona Anderson's petition on cervical screening for disabled women

Campaigner Fiona Anderson has started a petition for better access to cervical screenings.

Lauren West, Muscular Dystrophy UK’s Trailblazers Manager, said:

“Access to healthcare is a basic human right. But too many disabled women are missing out because of the physical and attitudinal barriers that stand in their way.

“Screening is essential in preventing cervical cancer and every woman should be entitled to routine testing. We wholeheartedly support Fiona’s petition and have written to health ministers to put across our concerns.”
