Very interested in what you are saying Rachel.

I have been posting on bad circulation for quite a time and been amazed not to find
people linking it more conclusively with MD. I keep mentioning it to the specialists
but again do not get a big response.

Seperately I have been posting about night sweats, and am encouraged that you are
mentioning the two together. I could not see how there can not be a relevance of these two topics
to MD issues. We used vto call them “Muck sweats”, but the special;ists apart from correcting
me that the term is “drenching sweats” again do not get too excited.

Both my mother and I had the bad circulation. I started a thread “54” about it that my heart rate
is 54 but now it seems to be 48 (resting). Just as you I never get warm. Even indoors today I am wearing
long sleeved and long legged thermals, many other layers, a fur hood up and fingerless gloves. In
the summer just as you even on the hottest days I will find a chill or a draught and be wearing a sweater.

The night / drenching sweats are annoying and still unexplained. I have recntly mentioned them
on my nine recent Respiratory appointments. I get them during the days too, i assume you do. At
a moments notice I suddenly have soaking wet clothes and feel completely “beat up”. I always carry
two spare sets of clothes. It even happened two months ago at the MD Conference. posted recently ;-

To me both these issues must be interrelated and be part of our muscular issues but there is so much
    confusion.

Don’t know if it is bad crculation but I am sooooooooo with you. My feet always seem to have a bruised colour, unless my best friend had gone to town on them [soaking, scrapping, scrubbing, rubbing, drying, she don’t hold back, lol] then they are as pink as barbie – thats how they have always been.

Sometimes my hands are incredibly cold and my nails turn a blue colour, the easiet way to indce this is to do the washing up. It seems putting my hands in warm water, then drying them off, they then go icy cold and it takes absolutly aggggges for them to warm up again.

Yep my circulation is terrible too. My feet are always freezing and take ages to warm up. My toenails start to turn blue when I get out of the bath and sit down to dry myself off. As soon as I stand up again they go back to normal. My hands are always cold and when I’m typing, like now, my mouse hand is even worse. When I had a nerve conduction test I had to have a bucket of hot water to warm my hands and feet before they could do the tests LOL.

My feet and toes in particular look bruised which has caused concern amongst district nurses, new PAs etc. I have had my feet checked out, had a Doppler test to check the pulses in my feet and they are always there and often quite strong so I have stopped worrying about it. However the coldness of feet and hands I could definitely do without.

I am starting to get extremely hot at night, I have never had this with my winter duvet before although it was exceptionally cold last year, I am noticing more extreme temperatures…

A friend suggested evening primrose oil for the hot flushes at night, especially if they are female power surges … but you young-uns ain’t reached that yet.

had this for years, docs told me it was common for short thin ladies to have cold hands and feet, they ran with this notion till the colour changed from deadly white to purple going on black..

Have to be real carefull about rapid heat(have a habit of sitting with feet on radiator) as there is a risk of chillblanes, which is very painful.

The official cause for smurf feet was given as a condition called raynoids, I was briefly on meds for it and it did improve feet colour but it gave me dreadful chest pains as the key fix in the medication is to widen the arteries. I only use it now if I get a cut on my feet to allow it to heal as the feet dont heal in blue mode

Yes, I have rainaulds as well – although only a mild form. I always carry a hot waterbottle. If my fingers go really numb I tend to suck them!

We also feel the cold because we don’t have a lot of muscle firing off to keep us warm – muscle is what generates heat in our bodies. I tend to stay off alcohol these days because it lowers body temperature and when I drink I get the shakes and can’t warm up even with three hot waterbottles!
