    Claim for 2 year old

    Hi anyone with children with duchenne who can help me. He is 2 years old and I’m wondering if hes 2 young to claim dla as I’ve been advised to apply for it but I’m not sure if I can.

    I have just checked eligibility and a child aged between 6 months and 3 years must have lived in Great Britain for at least 26 of the last 156 weeks. More info on DLA for children

    Yes, you can claim the care component of DLA now. The mobility component can be awarded from the age of 3 for high rate or 5 for middle rate so you could always reapply when he turns 3.
