    ESA and DLA to Merge?..

Our old friend IDS has had another idea.

ESA and DLA should be merged into one benefit or possibly even
more worryingly just one test for both benefits!

    http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2015/oct/02/iain-duncan-smith-interview

“He is also looking at the idea of merging ESA (paid to those out of work) with disability living allowance (DLA – paid to fund the costs of disabled people who are both in work and out of work) under universal credit. Alternatively, he might just merge the two tests for the benefits.”

So one ATOS or Maximus minion eager to win a bunch of M & S vouchers can in a twenty minute
    interview take away everything.

"Even if you are not paranoid, it does not mean they are not out to get you!".

But ESA as a sickness benefit to merge with a DLA/PIP disabled benefit, is like mixing a tomato with a cumquat – just because they’re both fruits, doesn’t mean they work together.

Cost cutting again ….. well I hope they increase the teams working the reconsiderations and appeals they’re going to be double swamped.

The debacle of switching Incap to ES has barely been gotten over, the Debacle of switching DLA to PIP is knee deep in the stinky doo-doo and now he wants to compound the stinking heap with this! Some one needs a psych consult stat!

I cannot fathom it either and makes me want to hibernate! More disruption, changes, flawed processes, maladministration and unjust decisions if that happens :bang:

all these changes the conservatives keep making, are really starting to remind me of when thatcher was in power.
who remembers when the first time you went to the dole office to make a claim. you filled in the silly form. then you
had to go to the housing office to claim housing benefit. from the housing you got sent to the dept of social security.
who then in turn sent you back to the dole office to get a form stamped :bang:

& then when they’ve merged all those sickness/disabled/scrounger benefits they’ll means test them & there will be no point in claiming if you work or trying to work!
It will all make the decision to commit to someone who is sick or disabled much much more difficult too! :bang:

heres a little snippet I heard on the news the other day. our friend, the one that cares so much about disabled people, because he had a disabled son. well, hes going to stand down, half way through his term of Prime Minister.
anybody else get the feeling that hes going to grind us into non existence, bugger off and put IDS in to take over from him :bite:

If IDS moves in with Larry The Cat, he won’t be in a position to meddle with the benefit system – in truth how much actually meddling do the residents of old George Downing’s town houses do, isn’t it their minions, ministers, deputies et al who come up with the crazy schemes for them to rubber stamp?
