    Government sticks with 20m

After their “consultation”, in which, as their report states, almost everyone responded that the arbitrary change from 50m to 20m of mobility as the qualifier for PIP was wrong and would cause much suffering, the ConDem government have decided to ignore all that and to stick with their new 20m rule anyway. The true meaning of “consultation”.

    From the DWP “consultation” report:

“Respondents were concerned that the current 20 metres distance used
in the criteria would have negative consequences for individuals. Many
respondents were concerned about the impact on people moving from
the higher rate of DLA to the standard rate of PIP who would lose
access to a Motability scheme car. They felt this could increase isolation
and reduce independence, have significant financial impact, and cause
deterioration in their physical and mental health.”

Government: “Yeah? Well, we don’t care about you crips. We’re doing it anyway.”

Thanks, Cameron and Clegg and your friends. We will remember.

Oh well we all better get practising the how to fall at 18m bit then. I didn’t think they would help us; too busy helping their rich friends who will not be affected by any of the changes.

Im beginning to think I will vote yes to independence despite not liking Mr Salmond!

I want to scream whenever I hear Osborne & co on TV:-(

It’s a repeated pattern of the way this government works:

Announce extreme policy: —> Public reaction leads to difficult headlines and bad publicity for government.
Announce “consultation”: —> Bad headlines die down.
A few weeks / months later, sneak out results of “consultation”, and quietly let it be known that you’re sticking with the original policy anyway: —> Not many people notice this time, so get away with it.

Thanks, Tories and your spineless LibDem chums.

If you Scots do vote for independence, I’m going to be very tempted to move up there, if you’ll have me.

    Astutely put :Post:

Just got the letter about April 2014’s [non] rise in benefits, along with the proposed 10% electric rise, the council tax is bound to rise, food prices have risen … I’d sell my body but nobody has any spare change and medical science don’t want me
