Hi, Introducing Myself – Diagnosed with Multiminicore last year

    Hey guys,

I’m new here and just popping in to introduce myself!

I was diagnosed with Multiminicore Myopathy in August of last year, but it still feels very new. It was a 21 year long journey to get here – I have been having symptoms for most of my life, but for years my Drs. kept testing for MS, and I was also diagnosed with fibromyalgia at one point in 2014. Was told I had MD after a major flare up that began last January, resulting in a diagnosis after muscle biopsy findings.

Still waiting on the causative gene in my case.

It’s taken me a while to just breathe and get to a spot where I can just come on here and simply state the facts. It feels good to have reached this stage in my journey of Acceptance. I’m not sure what else to write in my “Intro”, but looking forward to conversing as time goes on.

Hi Andie, welcome to our little corner of the web.

It sounds like you have been through it in your journey to diagnosis. We all get to that place of acceptance in different ways and at a different pace. I showed symptoms at a very young age and to a degree I’ve never known anything different – my condition has gradually progressed.

Feel free to join in our chats or start a new thread. Good to have you on board.

    :welcome:
