    missing you all

    hi,
I’ve been very absent of late but have thought of all the forum folk regularly. wanted to wish you a Happy Holidays. :) have come back to find a new looking forum which has scared me a bit but I’m coping alright! haha.

hope you are all well? I have started a new job this last 6 months and to be honest it’s totally knocked me for six. have no energy at all. have really struggled climbing stairs lately and it’s rather annoying. but I love the job….

also, have been enrolled on the genome project and also am going to the muscle centre in Newcastle in February.

hope you forgive me for my absence!

    Welcome back.

Sounds very interesting work. The more research in
    this field the better.

    Sorry you have the fatigue.

I think I just give lots of blood for the genome project then I can relax and feel good about myself whilst the big brains decide what I’m going to die of…. :o :o

Hey all. Last week I went in an ambulance to hospital with possible sepsis. Turned out it was more likely flu (despite having had jab) and possibly viral pneumonia but X-ray didn’t look too drastic. Felt awful. Had a week off work. Still feel exhausted! Had my Newcastle centre for life national genetics appt today and it was long but promising. My bloods are being pu forward for 4/5 more genetic tests to try to label whatever muscle disease they know I have but can’t name. Had some helpful advice from the physio and nurse and doctor. Anyone else had an experience of that centre and any diagnosis after a long wait for the answer?? I’m hoping I will find something out that will help me plan my future. Have come up here for the week (from the south coast) with hubby and kids. Staying in static caravan. Anyone any suggestions for things to do up This way? Or on way home?

Diagnosis time can vary so much. Mine has taken over 30 years! We are living in an age where techniques are advancing all the time with regard to genetic testing.

There is an open air museum called Beamish, South of Newcastle – although that might be a tad cold this time of year. Great for whole family I seem to remember.

    Safe journey back down South.
