I wondered how easy / possibility of having a dedicated forum board to post on respiratory / NIV topics? There is a lot of good info and chats about things but to see it in one place as such you have to know what terms to search for. Would it be useful / more helpful to keep it all in one place under a particular board – could posts be moved at all?
Issues around other topics are also not so easy to find like discussions on diet or moving for example unless it’s obvious from the subject line.
Just a thought!cripticParticipantPosts: 307Joined: 15/03/2011October 11, 2011 at 5:22 pm #82414Re: NIV / Respiratory forum board?
Was just thinking the very same thing the other day when I posted the link to a lung function test. (took me half hour deciding where to post it)
It would be really good to have a central section within talkmd to keep the resp/vent info stuff together.

I think this is a valid point. I will discuss it with my fellow mods and admin.

dear techy peeps
as well as the subject title line could be have a tag box to enter key search words to make it easier to find stuff.
and a spell check button

:-) we don’t want much do we lol
My computer spell checks as I go but I don’t always go back and correct things I’ve done wrong! A tag box or something would be good – or to be able to choose tags from some key words (people not used to tagging might not be sure what to put and I tend to overtag!)
Hope we get something :-)cripticParticipantPosts: 307Joined: 15/03/2011December 8, 2011 at 9:55 pm #82422Re: NIV / Respiratory forum board?
We haven’t forgotten but we need to think how this might work without changing the nature of the place. In the meantime, if there is a particular subject anyone is interested in and is having trouble finding then I am happy to help as I am sure are AMG and Vicki

would it be practical while the kinks of a new section it ironned out to pin one of the more general/popular vent threads to the top of the section. maby the one you started with the vent poll. got a range of usefull info on that one..
chat n chill and the my life sections seem to be the most popular, quicky shoppers may not look into another section if they think it dont apply to them.. but they may call into a individual thread more so if it lives at the top of the list

It should have been put at the top as it’s a poll so blame the original
Poster for that… me

Am new on here but use NIV and had some issues with my teeth – have seen a dentist and think am at the bottom of it all now but would have found a specific board really helpful and would be v happy to share my own experiences on it.
I use a discussion forum run by my professional organisation and there are a lot of subject specific sections. They may not get used super regularly but they are the first place I’d go if I had a specific question that I wondered if it had been discussed by others. New sections are added from time to time if something gets raised quite regularly on the general bit.AilsaParticipantPosts: 17Joined: 09/12/2011
