    Pressure Sores

    Hello All,

Has anyone here ever had a pressure sore and if so, how have you dealt with it?

I woke up this morning and my right heel felt very sore. It was pink and felt sore for a long time after I got up. I rarely move once I fall asleep and already have a pressure care mattress. I don’t want it to develop into a pressure sore but I can’t sleep on my side or front, only my back. Any advice please!

I had a pressure sore right heel which developed into a nasty wound and once it broke down it took over 5 years to heal up. What finally worked for me was given to me when I went in for a sleep study. I will look for it later and get back to you with a name but it’s a a gel heel protector that I kept in place with a sock with the foot cut out. I’ll be back later with more details…

Ok, I found it! The brand name is Aderma and it says:

    “dermal pad standard heel”

    and further down:

    “Polymer elastomer, Dermal pad”

Hope you manage to sort the pressure sore.
