The magazine is excellent and up to it’s usual high standard.

Excellent and moving article on “turning a house into a home”, good coverage of Jon Hastie and his magnificent new film
and details of Trailblazers campaign against disability hate crime. The first article included an in depth guide to
adapting your home to deal with progressive disability.

Even managed to read the thing on a mobile device. Technology is getting so good for MD people!

The title of Jon Hastie’s article is “An Indomitable Will”. He gives us inspiration with Mahatma Gandhi’s quote :-

“Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will.”

"Even if you are not paranoid, it does not mean they are not out to get you!".

Thanks so much for the wonderful feedback, taungfox – that’s really brilliant. We so appreciate it.

And I’m thrilled you could read the whole thing on your mobile device – yay for technology!

Can I use this on the letters page?

    Have a great week.

    Hi everyone!

The latest Target magazines are now up online on our website here: http://bit.ly/MfvAGq

Hope you enjoy reading about some of our amazing volunteers and supporters right across the UK, whose hard work makes such a difference to the charity’s work. Read a few sports updates about the serious contenders for gold in the Paralympics swimming and Boccia, meet Lord Walton and Lord Attenborough, and read of our latest campaigning and advocacy news.

The research magazine features a report about the translational research conference, as well as news of clinical trials. There’s also a progress report on the consultation into the use of an IVF technique to prevent the transmission of mitochondrial myopathy from mother to child.

Happy reading! And do let me know if you have any comments or feedback.
    Ruth

PS I’m also gathering ideas for the next edition of Target MD (Nov 2012), the theme for which is ‘technology’. Please feel free to pass on your ideas of gadgets, apps and whatever else makes your life easier. I’d love to hear from you!

So glad to hear that it’s easy to read on your phone; that’s what we’re aiming for, so that’s fantastic.

Target MD is a good read as always.

Focusing on volunteering, Paralympics and our Celebrity supporters. Forgot
that Lord Attenborough was so prominent.

Thanks to all whose hard work makes this happen.

Thanks, taungfox, for your letter and for your comments about Target MD. I really enjoyed writing the piece about Lord Attenborough – I watched some footage of him talking about how and why he became involved with the charity, and the ‘close-to-my-heart’ attitude that he has always had to the charity is so evident in his sincere commitment to the work over so many years. He speaks from his heart, rather than from a script, which is really inspiring.

I’ll pass on your thanks to our Target MD team too.

Ha ha – you won’t find it hard for contributors to that topic around here as you know :-) Like the way that Target seems to have lots of snippets/mini bits from lots of people rather than just page long articles on one or two main things :-) Wish it was a monthly!

Thanks so much, criptic! The whole idea behind the magazine is to make it focus on lots of people and what they are doing, rather than focusing on what the charity does. I’m glad you’re enjoying the new approach – it’s a wonderful publication to write, and I get to meet so many amazing people!

Phew – now, Target as a monthly magazine? That would be fabulous …

And I’m so glad you get to read the magazine on your phone. Makes my heart smile.

    Enjoy your weekend!

    Hi guys,
How do I download the Target magazine to my tablet? I’ve just tried to log in to download it but couldn’t, so am I doing something wrong? Do I have to “subscribe” first?

    Hi Syb

The magazines are available to read online, using page-turning software, and you don’t need to subscribe in order to read them online.

If you’d like to read the magazines offline, then you’ll need to view them in your Apple or android reader app, that can read media files. So you’d need to download it on to your PC and then upload it into your file reader … does that make sense?

Let us know if this works or not
