Doing ok in the heat. Staying out of it in the middle of the day – went for an evening stroll on Wednesday. Yes there was a breeze by the sea yesterday but pretty intense heat in my garden (I live about 10 miles inland). Got fan on indoors at mo.

They all thought I was mad to have a completely shady garden.

I have a large pergola completely covered by my shady Virginia Creeper.

Never mind midday, stay out of sun period.

    Hi taungfox! :waving:

I keep thinking how beautiful London looks in this weather! With the blue blue sky, I keep thinking, “Isn’t she lovely?” I guess it can be airless and dusty too in some parts, but here in central it’s gorgeous!

I love this weather – at last I feel warm and can wear short sleeves! I slather all exposed areas with factor 50, put on my sun hat and read in the garden. Being near the sea it is cooler than inland, and we’ve had a strong NE wind this past 2 days which pegs it back a bit too. When I get too warm, I move to the shade [ie wind tunnel at the side of the house]. I’ve also got a little water spray which is immensly handy for cooling my face.

The heat did get to me last Sunday though. Parking my car on my boyfriend’s drive took three attempts [all failures] and by the end I left it on the grass, opened the door and said “help!” I was just so exhausted by the heat and effort.

I have a supply of cream soda at last if anyone wants a glass!
