What Is On Your Ipod Today

Sam was telling us about his favourites
like Stevie Wonder and Creedence Clearwater
    Revival……

What about the rest of us…..what music
do we listen to ? We have threads for
books and cinema why not music ?

Good idea for a thread. 8-)

Today I am mostly listening to The Hold Steady (having been to a brilliant gig by them recently).

Don’t possess an iPod myself, but the current few “most listened to” on my computer’s iTunes list are:

    The Pogues
    The Clash
    Billy Bragg
    Bellowhead
    The Buzzcocks
    Bruce Springsteen
    The Hold Steady
    and, erm, Tenpole Tudor.

I have rather a lot of tunes in my ipod.

Current favourites are Bruno Mars, Plan B and Red Hot Chilli Peppers plus a lot of random singles.

I have a varied mix on my ipod.

Today I have been listening to Elliott Smith the album Either Or. It is a very mellow accoustic album and I would recommend it to any one.

Never heard of him till today.

One hour later on I am a fan.

    Very mellow indeed. Thanks.

    Currently listening to Roddy Woomble.

Some may know him as the lead singer of Idlewild, but he’s now touring as a solo artist, with a much more laid-back “folkie” sound. His first “solo” album, My Secret Is My Silence, is highly recommended, and there’s a new album due out next week. And we have tickets to see him next week too, so getting in the mood. 8-)

Not in such a great mood today so I’ve given Slipknot a blast & a lot of punk classics to get rid of some frustration

I’ve got over 500gb of music on an external hd as well as a 16gb mp3 player (not that I go out enough to use it) & what I play invariably is mood dependent but, pereniall favourites on anything is some trance, VNV Nation & Elvis

No problem I always like it when I can introduce people to music/artists they have never heard before. :)

You can always rely on Slipnot to get rid of some of that frustration that builds up. Pantera and Sepultura are always good for me when I’m in a bad mood. Although I am partial to some hardcore punk punk every now and again. There should be a head banging emoticon. LOL.

Totally agree, nothing better than something angry, loud & fast like Slipknot to get it out of my system. Covers up the sound of me cursing too (I fell over, hence the bad mood & I swore a lot). Partial to Rammstein also, hard thumping stuff. My bad mood has passed now but, I’ve carried on the theme – onto some G n R, Iron Maiden & then I’ll finish with Metallica. All rock today

Good move. I find that there’s nothing like a blast of The Clash or the Buzzcocks to get me energised.
I Fought The Law by The Clash has had a long reign at the top of my iTunes “most-played” list now.

Today I will be mostly listening to The Pogues. Predictably, I suppose.

I bought The Mighty Boosh radio show the other day so I will be mostly laughing my way through this today.

I will also be listnening to Joanna Newsom throughout the day. This is also mellow but very weird. Its is kind of country music well not country music, its hard to explain. I will post some links to you tube.
