Does anyone know how to transfer an itunes library from one computer to the other? The last couple of times i have been informed i only have so many machines i can share with. I am worried that when i have used up all five i will be unable to access it!

Just to make it clear, i don’t have loads of cash to splash out on laptops, it had to take back 2 machines to a certain High Street chain (think of a Greek city starting with A) recently. I have transferred my itunes library 3 times now, i seem to only have two moves left.

I am obviously not doing something, they are evidently ensuring that i can’t re-distribute the music to all in sundry, i have no interest in doing that, i just don’t want to lose what i have in the future.

I am pretty useless with IT, i tend to buy CDs still, at least they’re not going anywhere! ;)

I am having a vague memoy moment. I ‘think’ it is something to do with the number of authorized computers associated to your iTunes account. It is limited to five, but when iTunes is open you can deauthorize the machine you are using from the ‘Store’ menu.

Couple of useful tips, here on the Apple site.

Love Depeche Mode anyway, never heard of this Soulsavers before. They are quite downbeat but, that’s not a critiscism & from the tracks I’ve heard off the four studio albums (I can only find four) are quite eclectic & I like the fact they try different approaches/styles with different lead vocalists or no vocalist at all. ‘Closer’ from the first album is really up my alley, haven’t stopped listening to that since yesterday & reminds me a bit of a VNV Nation/Portishead/Depeche/Massive. I could’ve easily made the mistake of thinking it was any of them. My Estonian mate has been listening too & she loves ‘Spiritual’ with Mark Lanegan.

Thanks so much for the link. Made my day being introduced to an artist I never heard of & one I’ve embraced quickly & fondly.

Had some great introductions to music here too, including Elliott Smith and the Alabama Shakes.

Also found the rewarding fact that by now there is probably a youtube video of whoever you want.

    Excellent.

My iTune is currently squeaking out AC/DC live At The River Plate [nabbed ot from Brother in Law] have to say, slightly disappointed, it is rather pedantry, but livr albums can be that way.

Re: What Is On Your Ipod Today

I forgot I even had an mp3 player. I found it & decided it needed updating. After some research I bought a Cowon J3 which took some bidding & time to get a good one. That particular model isn’t made anymore & the sound is the near best you can get. Cowon’s are the dog’s doo-dah’s.

So, now I’ve bought some new AKG can’s, I’m in the middle of loading up the J3 & I’m also gonna chuck on some audio books on it too. I like biographies but, only if spoken by the author, just seems more natural & honest to me that way. More genuine.

So, soon to be pounding the streets of Aylesbury whilst listening to me choons. I am a little concerned some toothless numpty may try to part me from my headphones & player but, I’ve decided not to live in that fear anymore.

And as a tip for you all, I think music transferred or converted straight from source ie cd to the mp3 player sounds better than downloaded mp3’s. It just sounds so to me anyway. My point is, in deciding to invest in some cd’s instead of doing the ebay thing again I went to Amazon & found a seller called ‘Zoverstocks’ Sells thousands of used cd’s for a penny, A PENNY ! You have to pay £1.25 postage on every album, regardless of how many you order but, I bought twenty for £25. Mostly best ofs & greatest hits & none are new releases but, if you want to build your collection & catch up, what a place to start. All the ones I purchased were from the past ten-fifteen years, everything from Morrisey, Bjork to Red Hot Chilli Peppers.

    This is a good point.

Forgot about the Cowon, they had a very high quality and reputation. People are seduced to thinking they have to go Apple to get quality.

Similarly I bought an old Archos 7 on E-bay for £ 50. Great sound for a hand held device and plays video
and film perfectly. At 160 Gb it holds my lifetime collection on Music and video (and plays it on TV). This
means I can buy entry level Apple devices to use as run-arounds.

There are great machines out there, keep looking on E-Bay. Thanks Zoverstocks tip.

Any body heard of ‘The Weeknd’ ? Loosely along the lines of Drake or Frank Ocean. I ripped The Trilogy and if you like modern melodic soul/chill out/low tempo stuff, you will like this, as I do. I’ve ordered the albums legit now cos they struck me so.

Be warned, there is frequent strong language in the lyrics ;)

Today I will be mostly listening to the new album by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Push The Sky Away.

Great stuff, with the air of menace that Mr Cave does so well.

Emeli Sande. I love this womans voice. Her version of abide with me at the olympics opening ceremony was incredible.

Btw, is Anne Hathaway’s version of dreamed a dream on that soundtrack AMG ? She makes me all warm & fuzzy

Son of Rogues Gallery, a new collection of “Pirate Ballads, Sea Songs & Chanteys”, featuring such as Shane MacGowan, Robyn Hitchcock, Tom Waits, Keith Richards, Patti Smith, Iggy Pop, Nick Cave and many more. And Johnny Depp. Entertaining stuff.
