hey.. my mum jokes that when I drive, even my car becomes invisable..lol but when I use my scooter the kids gowk and the the old deers glare at me as if av nicked me grannies wheels.

I was a a ENT hosptial appointment this week to get me tonsils looked at and 3 things happened to bug me.
1 the ancient ENT doc after reading my file thats about 15″ thick takes one look at me in my chair and turns to my mother and asked cant she walk. mmm
2 on the way out we had a stop at the loo, leaves the scooter outside due to the disabled loo being cleverly wedge behind a revolving door. came out to find this old deer sitting in my scooter trying to free wheel it away with her feet.
and number 3 was reversing out the lift and this smarty pants starts clapping and goes to my mum didn’t she do well.

I really need a canine partner with patronizing git attack mode.

GP gave me solpadol and omeprazil and one of them seems to be making me really sleepy, possibly to strong for my body weight and the fact that i hardly eat this week or last.

pains a constant burny niggle this morning. seems to get worse after I eat.

ohh and my  wees went a bit strange its gone all stop start stop start with a weird pulling sensation, do you think this is someting to do with the catheter they put in last week or is this a kidney stone thing.

thanks guys for letting me have a moan. ;)

    Re: Weird Symptom

my first symptom last monday was being unable to pee. they eventually put a catheter in but no infection.

they did do a scan but couldn’t find left kidney dont think they looked for gall blader or stones.

I tried going to my GP but he wasn’t interested in finding the problem just wanted to give me a cert for work.

the docs think its just my scoliosis but it not typical for my back pain after my spinal surgey I lost a lot of feeling in my back, its mostly pain in my shoulders and neck from leaning or pulling myself up, and a killer pain right on my tail bone.

oh and while im having a good old moan, ive got 3 massive bruises from when the nurses transfered me from bed to bed and helping me sit up.. they didn’t want my mum to help me, but when helps she never bruises me or drops me.

    Re: Weird Symptom

ok, new weird symptom. Spent last week in hospital for weird pain in my side.

It started very suddenly last Monday night and grumbled away till the morning till I decided to go to A&E.
It this really deep burning pain on my back under my right rib and I feel real sick. the docs run some test did some xrays and scans and didn’t find anything wrong.(couldn’t find my kidney either) they sent me home on last Thursday but the pains still going strong. Im going from being hot one minute to freezing the next and I feel really tired.

They tried to gently imply that it was just a sore back coming off my scoliosis but it feels different and I can normally manage a sore back with hot showers and pain killers. if anything the pain killers make it worse.

And do you know what one of the Doctors told me. “You cant have Muscular Dystrophy, only boys get Muscular Dystophy”
Makes you wounder how safe you are

Has any had pain like this and what may be the cause.

    Re: Weird Symptom

I too am experiencing “weird” stomach symptoms.

I cant much at meal times at lunch I am lucky if i manage about half a sandwich. I no longer like to eat out as my stomach swells during meals making me very breathless and tired. I now have to put my ventilator on and have a lie done after my dinner.

My tummys gone from flat to tubby.

Re: MY ELDEST Grandson is 12 and suffers from DMD

    hi supernan

The surgery is well worth having if its available to your grandson and as soon as possible to preserve muscle strenght, breathing as well as posture. dont let the docs forget about you.

I waited soo long for my opp that it was a relief when it came and to be honest all I remember is my mum leaving me in the pre opp room and then the drive home from hospital. but I know now as an adult how worried my mum, gran and older sister were for me. But for all the worry that came with it it was worth it in the long run, if I hadn’t had the opp my breathing would have got a lot worse instead of improving. 3 months after my 10hr opp I was able to learn to drive, I would have not been able to do this had I not had the opp.

Hope all goes well for your grandson and try not to worry.
