i have had leg pain for years ..i thought it was to do with my hip but i had an MRI scan last year that found i had a prolpse disc in my back and so the pain radiated down my right leg …it might be advisable to ask for a scan to rule this out . I am having an injection into that joint in a couple of weeks so will let you know how it goesApril 2, 2012 at 8:39 am #85016Re: No More Cuts……..Except For You Crips….
we all know how difficult it is to get a job …tell that to our 3 18 19 yr olds looking for work for the last year and nothing !! they are all on jobseekers and feel totally demorralised as came out of school with 10 or more gcses grade c and above …i cant understand how you think it is ok for people to scrounge off the free handouts when you have people that hate living on handouts but have no choice ? are you an april fool or what ?
get rid of these spongers and pay the benefits to people that rightly deserve them , that is what osborne wants to do , not to take benefits away from vulnerable people , get the welfare state right and he wouldnt have to make cuts to people would he ?April 1, 2012 at 5:46 pm #85014Re: No More Cuts……..Except For You Crips….
disabled people are seen as ‘ scroungers’ because of people falsely claiming dla and have later been captured on the golf course playing a round of golf carrying their heavy bag of clubs without any difficulty …its because of cases like this that unfortunately we are all seen as ‘scroungers’ ! this is why as i said there should be more rigorous assessments to make sure the right benefits get paid to the right claiments …April 1, 2012 at 5:38 pm #85013Re: No More Cuts……..Except For You Crips….
i am totally aware of people whos benefits have been cut …i know of 1 man with md in bognor whos hours were cut from 24 hr care down to only 5 hrs a day , which he did take to appeal and won (he should never had had to do this ) ..my husband worked in social care until a couple of years ago and is still in touch with a few of his old clients who have had their day centre closed , due to government funding , which is also wrong … I am not for 1 minute saying that it is right to cut someones benefits if they are rightly entitled ( i dont believe i have said that , but you can quote me if i have ) i am saying that i think it is right to find the people that are wrongly claiming benefits ….why should hard working tax payers pay a high percentage of their tax to these people that could easily go and get a job ? i was one of those tax payers till a couple of years ago and i strongly believe benefits are thre to help people that are not in a position to help themselves , i do not see that as being ‘naive’ …April 1, 2012 at 8:32 am #85010Re: No More Cuts……..Except For You Crips….
i personally have not heard of anyone i know who is entitled to their benefits being cut , i know that it does happen and i am certainly not ‘ naive ‘to this fact …their are a minority of people out there claiming benefits that shouldnt be and i definately think the government should be doing more to sort this problemApril 1, 2012 at 8:23 am #85009Re: No More Cuts……..Except For You Crips….
how many people out there not receiving the benefits that they are entitled too ? this comes down to better information being given by the benefits advisors/GPs and visible assessments / interviews by professionally trained advisorsApril 1, 2012 at 8:18 am #85008Re: No More Cuts……..Except For You Crips….
i had my re assment for ILF last october and i was aked if i felt i needed more hours …i receive 20hrs a week at the moment but that can be flexible to my needs . I live in one of the worst areas to be affected by these cuts (west sussex) , you only hear about the bad things never the good ! I do not agree with everything Mr Osborne has said , but i feel strongly that the welfare state needs sorting outMarch 28, 2012 at 6:41 pm #85001Re: No More Cuts……..Except For You Crips….
i would just like to add that my step daughter suffers from severe depression also and has tried to commit suicide 3 times and is now on the road x fingers to getting better …not recovering as you dont ever recover from depression . It has only been the help of professionals and being around her friends ,being at work , and people that understand this condition that she is finally getting there …
i would also like to add that the 3 people in my life suffering from this ‘ disease’ ..have never claimed disability benefits but we know people that have and didnt want to seek any other help out there for themselves to get well !March 28, 2012 at 6:23 pm #85000Re: No More Cuts……..Except For You Crips….
trust me i know how disableing depression is …my husband and sister suffer from this , but as they would tell you the best place to be when it hits is around other people , whether that is in a work environment or not ! as for the tory government , does it matter whether its them or labour or the green party , they will try to cut money back from where ever they can . I just dont agree with scareing people into thinking their benefits are going to be cut when you have no proof this is going to happen ! everyone on here is at different progression with md and probably on different benefits …my husband receives carers allowance as he is my main carer and i get full rate DLA and i have no doubt when this changes over to PIP it will change . I know alot of people on here get incapacity benefit ..i cant speak for that as have worked up to a couploe of years ago and have never received this but i am absolutely sure if people are entitled to this then that will carry on .March 27, 2012 at 6:57 pm #84997Re: No More Cuts……..Except For You Crips….
i totally agree with osbourne that we need to make cuts in welfare . How many people are out ther claiming benefits , especially disability benefits when they shouldnt be ? there should be more rigorous checks on everyone (including us ) to wrangle out the fraudsters ..we all know of people that are claiming that shouldnt be , and i for 1 have been tempted to snitch on these people but i know i couldnt live with the guilt and if they were to find out . I do not think people like us will lose out as we are entitled to these benefits as our claims are genuine , but it might deter people with bad backs or depression putting in a claim !!March 22, 2012 at 6:21 am #85053Re: obesity
benefit scroungers …who are the biggest scroungers in our country ? the politicitians who use tax payers money to pay for their luxury lifestyles . Whats the difference ? when they get found out they can afford to pay it back ! most just get a slap on the wrist , dont do it again and we get a public apalogy ! I know its greed for people to do benefit fraud and its totally wrong but kettle black …. single mums , yep there are woman out there that go on and have kids to get a flat but i have been a single mum when my only daughter was 6 and it was blimin hard work so i do have a little experience and i know that alot of these single mums do not choose to be in that situation. Obese people know that they are getting that way and get to a size where they are relying on other people to go out and buy/get there 5 big macs, 3 large fries/ 6 mars bars and a big bottle of coke (in one sitting) ….i will never have any sympathy for these people that drain our NHS and put our paramedics backs at risk , when they can do something about their weight ! as i said , i lost 5 and a half stone when i got diagnosed as i was told by my consultant it would be a strain on my joints and slow my mobility down . I did it in 7 months with weight watchers 10 yrs ago and have maintained it …if i can anyone can !!March 21, 2012 at 10:22 pm #85050Re: obesity
i feel totally disgusted that these people , who have the power to change their lives get all the help and people that have no choice have to fight everyday for everything just to make our lives easier …unbelieveable !!March 20, 2012 at 6:02 pm #84883Re: muscular dystrophy and singleness
and also i would like to say that i also had no social life as totally controlled by my ex …no friends . If i can , anyone can ! Trust me , my daughter lived with her dad when we split as i had no choice but to leave her with him …he controlled her too but she is 18 now and coming to live with me in a couple of weeks time as she can see what her dad did to both of us …it will be the same for you tooMarch 20, 2012 at 5:58 pm #84882Re: muscular dystrophy and singleness
@ ranauld ..my first marriage my husband put me down and made me feel completly useless , told me that no one else would love me and i totally had no confidence at all . It wasnt until my dad died when i was 30 that i turned my life around completely …. I went to weight watchers (my husband laughed at me and said that i could never lose weight ) , 6 months after i had dropped 5 dress sizes ( 10 yrs on have managed to maintain this ), i learn to drive (my husband said no point as i am the most unobservant person in the world and i would be awful driver ) i passed 1st time … i did voluntary work (which he told me was pointless as no one would ever employ me as being disabled ) …i did that for 6 months , went for my first interview in years and got it , as a receptionist for the NHS in southampton…. my confidence went through the roof as i made myself go out there , make new friends , have a great social life , divorce my husband , meet my new one …. anyone can achieve anything that they want …but they have to really want itMarch 19, 2012 at 6:49 pm #84873Re: muscular dystrophy and singleness
im sorry to sound harsh but please !! if you have that attitude you will never find anyone ….i divorced my first husband 4 years ago and was on crutches . I met my now husband 3 years ago …ok i met him online , we spoke for a good couple of weeks before we met and i told him everything about my md before we did actually smack eyes on each other so he wasnt shocked . I have deteriorated alot in that time and is now a full time wheelchair user . My arms and legs are weak but the strongest muscle in your body is your mind …if you dont have a positive outlook and i dont want to upset or insult you but feel sorry for yourself you will never find that happiness you are looking for …there are people out there with no arms and legs and go on to be happily married and have families
sorry to be abrupt
