Hi Lauren, I was also 19 when I was diagnosed with LG Type 2. I’m now 25 and still doing ok, I walk un-aided 99% of the time but use crutches if there are lots of people about or if I am going somewhere with an un-even surface.
If you have any particular questions feel free to ask or drop me a message

Thanks for the replies guys, just to let you know whats happened so far.
I spoke to Leicester City Council about a Disabaled Facilities Grant and they said they could only help managing stairs was with the installation of a stair lift and not a platform lift.
They suggested I apply for a “Community Care Grant”, so this will be me next port of call.
Will keep you all updated. SagFebruary 1, 2011 at 1:53 pm #77423Re: Football
Ozil + Kedira + Van der Vaat + Hernandez = Andy Carroll? HOW!!!?????
Suarez + Carroll = £58Mil
Torres sold for £50mil
Doesnt look to bad like that, but who knows if it will pay off?
Torress will do very well at chelsea IMO, he loves being fed through from midfield (and has shown since dalglish has been at the helm) and chelsea are very good at this.
Still….figures are madness!January 17, 2011 at 3:34 pm #78659Re: Possible MD
Hi Gerry, welcome to TalkMD
I can relate to your symptoms very well also. I was diagnosed with LGMD in my late teens.
Im sure your appointment will clear things up, but if it doesnt get bought up in conversation its worth mentioning.

Welcome Saniyah, Laylagirlxx & wingedwarrior to TalkMD, I hope you enjoy your time here and find it informative and friendly!
Saniyah, driving is the only way I keep mobile and I would reccommend it to anyone who thinks they can do it.
The details in Catdudes post are very helpful.
