Thank you, I have just read that thread of posts and it was helpful, just knowing there are others in the same boat as me.
I am no longer seen by any consultant at the hospital as my last doctor retired and I wasn’t assigned a replacement. If have any concerns I need to see my GP and then be referred.

I’ve had a few Ocado orders this year and been pleased with the service. The driver arrives on time and brings the shopping into the kitchen. I would recommend them.

    Hi Tilly,
Is there any chance you could get a power chair for when you go out?
I know just how much it must bother you, thinking that people are looking at the way you walk, as I had the same problem for years. Sadly,I don’t think you can have your memory wiped and you must not think you have brought this on yourself because you haven’t. It’s a genetic mutation over which we have no control.

Moderators – please note, this is not a genuine md posting, but a buisness trying to sell pain relief. He should be removed I think.

    Reply To: Organ Donation

I too have wondered about this very thing, but have also put myself on the organ donor register. I am hoping that when the time comes, the medics will be able to decide what they can use, bearing in mind my md history and use of prescrption pain relief. After I had some tests following blood clots in my lungs some years ago, the consultant told me I had lovely kidneys, so I hope they will still be good for someone else eventually!

I hope the bone scan was ok, Cat.

Today I went to the library to return a DVD and book. It’s a lovely building, just a year old and a nice place to browse the books.

My through floor lift broke down again last week, so I’m waiting for the company that services it to ring me when the replacement part comes in. It broke down last month (unrelated problem) so I’m not very happy. Gremlins must be at work.

    Reply To: puffy feet

Iv noticed lately that my feet and ankles are quite puffy. My respiratory consultant also pointed it out last week.

Could it be that I’m now using my power chair full time? Could it be lack of using my legs causing this?

I think your assumption is probably correct. However, I’m surprised that the consultant who pointed it out didn’t explain why or suggest you have an ECG to check out your heart rhythm.

Can you try raising your legs from the knees a few times every hour? Maybe wearing compression socks would help stop the puffiness as they help force the blood back up the legs more efficiently.

I do think if you are concerned you should just check it out with your GP.

    Reply To: Cold

My hands and feet are usually always cold. Thank goodness for footwarmers, is what I say!

I wear a vest nearly all year (it has got to be sweltering before I remove it) and tend to feel the cold quickly. You would never catch me in a swimsuit!

I have been a member for so long, I can’t even remember, and although I gave up driving about 18 months ago, I am still a member as I feel it keeps me in touch with the motoring community. After all, I am still sometimes a passenger.

I don’t know if the discounts are any good as I never took advantage of any of them. However, the monthly magazine is well worth reading and as Mike says, the organisation does a lot to promote the rights of disabled drivers.

    I would reccomend joining!

I agree with Mr Fox, though will not be booking a holiday ever again, as far as I can see. Too much opportunity for disasters to happen and stress to ruin everything.

Thank you for your replies, friends. I didn’t realise ESA was for 3 years only. I have got my old form and my sister has said she will help me fill in the new one.

Reply To: Has anyone tried Oxycodone for pain relief?

    Hi Flynn,
I am on oxycodone, pregabalin and paracetamol. I still have pain but it’s not as bad as it could be. Could your GP increase the dose or add another drug? Don’t take more than your prescribed dosage without your doctor’s authority though.
