There is a news item on today’s BBC news website Health section, on DMD in mice and gene treatment.
    Sorry I can’t include a link.

    None of those.

Clue – you would also find one of these at home. We must have an upmarket library!

Glad to hear your good news, Cat. Have a look at the DMUK website. It might be helpful for you. Sorry I can’t post the link but I don’t know how to!

Well done to you with the job, Pippa! And here’s hoping your involvement with the genome project brings success.

    Hello.

Gp and consultant have given up on me so I refuse to go to doctor about any of this.

    Thanks for any tips :)

I don’t imagine your GP has really given up on you, though it might seem that way to you, There are other painkillers stronger than Paracetamol that might help you, which could probably be prescribed. You shouldn’t need to go private. I am currently taking Oxycodone and Pregabalin for pain as well as Paracetamol. They help me and might help you too.

Reply To: GOOD LOO/BAD LOO closing door optional

One of the most odd “disabled loos” I ever used was in our city hospital. It was plenty big enough (could easily have got a football team in there) but once seated on the loo, the grab rails either side were up at ear level, and the toilet roll hung on the wall was way out of reach! It was so ridiculous – don’t know how on earth anyone thought it suitable.

    Reply To: Appointments

I have only just read this thread. I had a lovely consultant but the last time I saw him was April 2014. I subsequently saw another doctor for MRI results. He then signed me off the books and I’ve not been given any further appointments. My consultant would see me every year and more often if there were things he wanted to investigate. But I think he was on long term sick leave last year and now I don’t expect to see anyone apart from my GP.

Quite honestly, the way I feel at the moment, I couldn’t even think about travelling anywhere to see anyone. I have a lot of pain and just getting from one end of the day to the other is all I can deal with.

    Reply To: Pregabalin

    Hi friends,
I’ve just found these posts and would like to thank you for sharing your experiences of pain and pain relief. I am having a lot of pain and take daily Pregabalin which I think does help. But it’s hard – coping with the pain is so difficult and it’s good to know I’m not alone. That’s why this forum is so important. Keep sharing! :ty:

I am finding it hard to navigate round this new style forum. If I can find this thread again, I’ll be lucky!
