Muscular Dystrophy UK’s BBC Lifeline appeal

Thank you for your fantastic support of our BBC One Lifeline appeal

The appeal has raised over £32,000 towards our vital work supporting 70,000 people living with muscle-wasting conditions in the UK, and funding the research that will, one day, bring them treatments and cures.

It was great to hear from our supporters that you were moved the lives of seven-year-old Abbi Bennett from Birmingham and 28-year-old Jonathan Gilmour, based at Cambridge University.

You can read more about Abbi’s story here.

Read Jonathan’s story here.

If you were moved by Abbi and Jonathan stories, please donate here.

We rely almost entirely on our supporters’ donations and legacies to fund our work. Your support is vital.

  • £25 could help to enable us to get access for an individual or families to a specialist physiotherapist who can show them the valuable muscle-stretching techniques that could keep them or their child walking for longer.
  • £35 would give support to a family for week through our free helpline, peer to peer support programmes and our information sheets.
  • £44 could ensure another hour of scientific research in the drive towards effective treatments and cures for devastating muscle-wasting conditions.

Thank you.
