Sooz Gilson is cycling an incredible 100 miles for Muscular Dystrophy UK

The nervous excitement is beginning to kick in now! I’m really hoping my new shorts do the trick for the many hours I’m going to be on my bike. I just hope I can complete it inside 8.5 hours! It’s going to be a huge challenge, which is one of the reasons I chose RideLondon.”

Sooz is riding for Muscular Dystrophy UK in support of her husband and his family.

My husband has a form of muscular dystrophy, which his Dad also had, as well as several other members of the family. Having seen first-hand how this condition affects not only the individual, but also other family members close to them, I felt compelled to help raise funds to continue the work of MDUK. The charity provides support, research into treatments and might one day ultimately eradicate muscular dystrophy all together.”

Sooz has already raised £830, smashing the £550 minimum sponsorship target.

I am incredibly lucky to have such supportive friends and family, but I still had a lot of begging to do on social media with updates on my training.”

The Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 is taking place on Sunday 29 July. You can support Sooz and the rest of #TeamOrange by coming to our cheer point in Kingston. If you would like to donate to Sooz’s challenge visit here JustGiving page.
