The centre deals with disorders of muscle, nerve, and neuromuscular junction providing special clinics for muscle, nerve, motor neuron disease, and myasthenia gravis. The centre includes specialists in Neurology, Neurophysiology, Neuropathology, and multidisciplinary management, covering all aspects of treatment that may be necessary for patients.
The Royal Free Neuromuscular Centre is linked to the UCL Institute of Neurology, and all patients have the opportunity to participate in research if they so wish. All of the staff at the centre are involved in continuing education to ensure they are up to date with the latest developments with research, with the consultants attend national and international neuromuscular meetings.
How to access the service
To attend the clinic you must be referred by either a GP, consultant or physiotherapist and can then access the electronic NHS Choose and Book system which gives patients a choice of place, date and time for their first outpatient appointment in a hospital or clinic.
