We’ve been awarded a quality mark for our health and care information

We’ve been awarded the PIF TICK – the UK’s only assessed quality mark for print and online health and care information.

Run by Patient Information Forum, the PIF TICK shows our health information has been through a professional and robust creation and review process. Undergoing an assessment showing we met 10 key criteria including evidence sources, digital and health inequalities, accessible content and design, feedback and dissemination processes, and measuring impact helping us to become a ‘trusted information creator’.

Providing assurance that you’re reading, watching, or listening to current content that is evidence-based, understandable, jargon-free and produced to the best possible standard.

What it means to receive the stamp of approval

Neeru Naik, our Director of Care, Campaigns and Support said: “We work with a network of reliable sources including specialist neuromuscular clinicians to help communicate information to our muscle wasting and weakening community. The PIF tick is a quality mark that certifies our information showing its reliable and trustworthy.

“We want to create excellent resources to inform and empower people with muscle wasting and weakening conditions. We realise that good quality information can help people make informed decisions about their health and care.”

Using the PIF TICK moving forward

We’ll use the accreditation to ensure that we provide trusted information for the conditions and health sections. We’ve also begun a review process of all materials including condition factsheets and alert cards – so watch this space!
