40km through quaint Dorset villages, heaths and country lanes, passing the ancient Corfe and Lulworth castles
3km over the sheltered waters of Studland Bay with the chalk stacks of Old Harry Rock in the background.
17 km over hills and downs and along Purbeck ridge with panoramic views on your descent to Studland, taking in the chalk stacks of Old Harry Rock and views over Poole Bay and the Isle of Wright.

What are the key dates for the Jurassic coast event?
When is the online safety briefing?
Two weeks prior to the event. Details and joining link will be emailed to you.
What happens on event day?
You’ll start early, complete the cycle, paddle, and hike sections with your team, and finish with a celebratory BBQ and medal presentation.
How far is the cycle route and what terrain can I expect?
Approx. 40km through quaint Dorset villages, including some climbs. Road or hybrid bikes recommended.
What is the paddle distance and where does it take place?
Approx. 3km on Studland Bay. Calm waters, perfect for beginners.
How long is the hike and what is the elevation gain?
Approx. 17km over hills and downs and along Purbeck ridge. Expect challenging but achievable climbs with stunning views.
Are the routes signposted and marshalled?
Yes, all sections are fully signposted and supported by marshals.
Do I need to bring my own bike for the Jurassic Coast event?
Yes, unless you book bike hire. Road or hybrid bikes are best suited.
Is bike hire available and what does it include?
Yes, bike hire is FREE. Includes helmet, delivery, collection, two-day hire, and mechanic support.
Is paddling equipment provided?
Absolutely—all boats, paddles, and life jackets are included. Stable craft make it beginner-friendly.
What clothing and kit should I bring for this location?

Yes, our event partners have mapped backup routes for both hike and paddle sections.
What if I can’t complete a section—how will I be supported?
Support vehicles and staff are available to assist and transport you safely.
Are there any age requirements?
Pedal Paddle Peak is open to everyone 16 and above. Please note that 16 and 17 year olds will need to be accompanied by an adult parent / guardian.
