My husand has Myotonic Dystrophy and a friend suggested this forum for support. He’s 68 and was aware in his 30s. Balance and walking are main problems at the moment.

    Hi Figaro :welcome:

Good to have you on board. Feel free to ask questions, have a browse. We have a few members with Myotonic MD and there are very often a lot of areas of daily life that cross over with other conditions.

Hi! I recently learned I was misdiagnosed and do not have cerebral palsy but CMD. the bone near my ankle on my foot where it bends is what’s most painful and causes me to call often. I wanted to know if buying a compression wrap for my ankle will help me walk better?

Hi chloehopebaby. It may help to have a support like that or you might need a specially made orthotic support for your ankle. You would really need to discuss the issue with a specialist. Do you have access to good medical support?
