Trailblazer Tanvi’s blog on EasyJet’s policies

Trailblazer Tanvi’s blog on EasyJet’s policies towards disabled travelers is featured on the Comment is Free section of Guardian Online:

    http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2012/feb/01/easyjet-profits-disabled-passengers-lose

It is Tanvi’s second blog for the website – following her submission to the Film section in August.

Excellent blog – although I am not 100% that the reason for EasyJets policies is purely cost, I think it is the most convenient and un-litigateable excuse they can use.

My personal ill-informed opinion is that EasyJet do not want to be bothered by the hassle of chunky passengers – they want the stream line herdable rats, without hold luggage, with simple small carry on item, who don’t need a pee or a drink.

They don’t deserve and won’t get business by treating people that way, and it looks ie it is not just Uk laws they are contravening – but the press will get its readers tut-tuting because a disabled person is making a hue and cry, having a tantrum because they cannot get their own way.

I saw on FB the other day that Easyjet have changed their policy. Well done to all that campaigned on this.
