Well I never, I’ve been thinking about a kindle, especially after I saw that paper white one but, I thought “can I really justify it ?”. I’m not a prolific reader, I have patches where I read lots & then months where I read nothing but, after talking about Madhur Jaffrey’s books I got I just found they do a kindle version http://www.amazon.co.uk/Madhur-Jaffreys-Curry-Nation-ebook/dp/B008J10K1G/ref=sr_1_1_bnp_1_kin?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1361641469&sr=1-1

I will have to see if there’s more cook books available on the kindle & then maybe have a decision to make… and have a new gadget :)

I bought a kindle a couple of weeks ago, and love it, read twice as much as usual. Not sure this new ‘paper white’ thang is worth the extra £££. Any chance you can get into Tesco/Asda/Currys to have a handle before buying?

The range of books (& prices) is expanding all the time, you might be spoilt for choice.

After reading what you just said, about whether the ‘paper white’ is worth the extra, I agree. If I do get one I’ll get the basic, it’s less than £70. I’m just in the middle of researching cook books available ;) . I wonder if there’s any hairy bikers on kindle

I was thinking I’ve seen this all before exactly because of the untimely death on the pitch of MVF. The passing of Marc cemented my contempt & hate for blatter because he didn’t want to have a mintutes silence but, a moments silence & then he wanted to move swiftly on to talk about some poxy coins fifa were bringing out. World football will only benefit from this pathetic & blinkered humans long overdue departure from the head of fifa, itself a corrupt institution.

He ruins the game but is also a pretty true reflection of what it is turning into, not only because of what he allows to happen but the way all these billionaires waltz in and take over the game. Hate it.

    Kevin Barry: City of Bohane

Dystopian vision of an isolated city in the west of Ireland dominated by gang culture. I like a bit of dystopia.

Since purchasing my kindle, I have become slightly addicted to the ‘free books’ list that is on the main site.
