Join MDUK President Gabby Logan for a live cooking lesson

Gabby Logan, our President, will take part in a live cooking broadcast next week – and you can join in from the comfort of your home.

Gabby will front the live cooking lesson for her Sri Lankan-style monkfish curry on Tuesday 8 December at 7.30pm. MDUK is receiving a generous donation of £7,500 from Cookalong TV‘s partnership with the Vodafone VeryMe rewards app.

The virtual cooking session will take place on YouTube here, where Gabby will be joined by Vodafone VeryMe competition winners.

Gabby has shared the recipe for her dish (which serves four) here - so if you want to cook along from your kitchen, you can buy ingredients in advance.

What is Cookalong TV?

Cookalong TV was created back in March during lockdown to help charities struggling with fundraising amid the pandemic.

Its virtual series has taken the UK by storm by arranging celebrities to host live cooking lessons in return for a donation to their chosen charity.

Stephen Mooney, Director of Marketing and Communication at MDUK, said:

We are hugely grateful to our president Gabby Logan, Vodafone, and Cookalong TV for next week’s cooking event. We want to thank Vodafone in particular for their generous donation of £7,500 to MDUK.

This money will be a much-needed financial boost in our fight to help treat, and ultimately cure, muscle-wasting conditions. Our charity will miss out on £2.8m in income because of the coronavirus pandemic this year, so Vodafone's donation will help us carry on serving the UK's 70,000 people with muscle-wasting conditions.

Gabby's Sri Lankan-style monkfish curry looks absolutely delicious and we'll definitely be giving it a go ourselves in the kitchen!

A Vodafone spokesperson said:

After a challenging year in which we have been focused on connecting people, we wanted to bring some Christmas magic to our customers whilst supporting some of the UK’s most valued charities. We’re delighted to be supporting MDUK via our special Gabby Logan cookalong.
