Simply enter keywords such as “blue badge”, “parking” or “car parks” and the closest car parks will be listed. mobile maps currently has information on more than 2000 Blue Badge on-street parking spaces in over 2000 locations in more than 65 cities across the UK, provided by PIE (Public Information Exchange). mobile maps has a range of unique features including the ability to save business names, addresses and phone numbers directly to the phone’s contact list, and also to share this information with others via textmessaging – ideal, for instance, when organising a meeting. People can also contact businesses directly from the application with a simple click to call.

David Pearce, head of marketing for mobile, said:

Providing Blue Badge parking information is just another example of how useful mobile maps can be. We enable people to find Blue Badge parking in any location in the UK and then provide turn-by-turn directions displayed on a map on their mobile phone.

Freddie Talberg, CEO of PIE added:

Disabled people and those who care for them often find themselves in a position when a parking space is not available – but they won’t know this until they are already out and about. The combination of PIE’s up-to-date data with the instant availability of mobile maps is an ideal partnership, and we look forward to assisting many more people while they are on the move.
