Attend our York Information Day – a free, in-person event for adults and parents of children living with a muscle wasting or weakening condition.

We’re pleased to invite you to our York Information Day – a free, in-person event for adults and parents of children living with a muscle wasting or weakening condition.
Whether you’re newly diagnosed, supporting someone close to you, or simply looking to stay informed, this day is designed to offer practical advice, expert insight, and a welcoming space to connect with others.
Open to anyone across the UK, the event will feature a full programme of talks, discussions and networking opportunities. You’ll hear from professionals working across research, healthcare and support services, with plenty of time to ask questions and explore the help available through Muscular Dystrophy UK.
The day begins with refreshments and a chance to meet the MDUK team, followed by a warm welcome and an update on our latest services and support. You’ll hear from our Research Team and guest contributors in a panel discussion, and we’ll explore a range of topics relevant to everyday life with a neuromuscular condition.
Afternoon Sessions will include practical guidance on managing fatigue, navigating the benefits system, supporting mental health and inclusive sport. We’ll also hear personal stories from members of the neuromuscular community.
There’ll be time to browse information stands and enjoy lunch with members of our community.
Whether you’re attending to learn something new, ask questions, or simply connect with others who understand, we look forward to welcoming you.
Sign up now to secure your place – spaces are limited, and if the event reaches capacity, we’ll operate a waiting list to ensure everyone has a chance to attend.
Please note: the agenda is subject to change as speakers and sessions are confirmed.
