  • 16 years of age or older (up to state pension age)

  • State pension age and older

Universal Credit
  • 18 years of age or older (up to state pension age)

Carer's allowance
  • 16 years of age or older

Employment Support Allowance
  • 16 years of age or older
  • Have difficulty working because of a disability.
  • Have been employed or self employed
  • Paid enough National Insurance contributions

Challenging PIP Decisions

If you’ve not been awarded Personal Independence Payment (PIP), didn’t get the rate you expected or you think your award isn’t long enough, you can challenge the decision.

Financial support for your equipment or care needs

If you are deemed to have a care need, you will be eligible to receive grants and benefits which collectively are referred to as a care package. The individual grants and benefits are awarded according to an assessment of eligibility and needs undertaken by Social Services.
