We’re delighted to invite you to our Scotland Information Day – a free, in-person event for adults and parents of children living with a muscle wasting or weakening condition.

Whether you’re newly diagnosed, supporting someone close to you, or simply looking to stay informed, this day is designed to offer practical advice, expert insight, and a welcoming space to connect with others.

Open to anyone across the UK, the event will feature a full programme of talks, discussions and networking opportunities. You’ll hear from leading voices in research, healthcare and lived experience, with plenty of time to ask questions and explore the support available through Muscular Dystrophy UK.

What to expect

  • Welcome refreshments and a chance to meet the MDUK team.
  • Panel discussion featuring our Research Team and guest contributors.
  • Practical guidance on managing fatigue, mental health and wellbeing, inclusive education, and disability sport.
  • Personal story shared by Stephen McGuire MBE, Scottish Paralympic Champion (subject to change).
  • Information stands and a free lunch with time to connect.
  • Joined by Euan’s Guide, the Teapot Trust, and Scottish Disability Sport

Children are very welcome at our Scotland information day, with activities available from Scottish Disability Sports and The Teapot Trust Art Therapy. Please note that we do not provide childcare or creche facilities, so parents or guardians will need to supervise their children at all times.

Sign up now to secure your place as spaces are limited.

If the event reaches capacity, we’ll operate a waiting list to ensure everyone has a chance to attend.

Please note: the agenda is subject to change as speakers and sessions are confirmed.
