Ways to give in memory of someone

Donating in memory of a loved one is a meaningful way to celebrate their life while helping people living with muscle wasting conditions.

Whether you make a donation, create a tribute page, or collect donations at a funeral, your support will fund vital research and life-changing support for families across the UK.

We’re truly honoured to receive your gift.

Make a donation in memory

Honour a loved one by donating in memory. Your gift supports our vital work and honours their life.

Share a special post on our memory wall

Honour the memory of those we’ve lost but who are forever part of our community. Share a message, story or photo to celebrate their life.

Pay in a funeral collection

Instead of flowers, choose to donate in memory of a loved one to a cause close to their heart.

Create a Remembrance Tribute

A Remembrance Tribute is a special online space where you can invite friends and family to share treasured memories, photos and messages for your loved one. You can even light virtual candles to remember their birthday and other special days.

If you choose to, you can use the space to collect donations for Muscular Dystrophy UK. You can also set up fundraising events and sponsored activities in memory of your loved one and see how much they raised.

Setting up a Remembrance Tribute is easy to do. To begin, simply fill out this short form:

Leave a gift in memory

For over 60 years, we’ve helped people to stay independent, grow careers and start families. We’ve come a long way, but it’s not enough.

Donating in memory of someone could help fund groundbreaking research that will make long-term treatments – and  even cures – a reality in the future.

To make a one-off donation or set up a regular gift, please complete our online donation form or call us on 0300 012 0172.

Alternatively, if you would like to send a cheque, please make it payable to: Muscular Dystrophy UK, 32 Ufford Street, London, SE1 8QD. Please include a cover letter explaining whose memory the gift is in so we can thank you.

Funeral arrangements and memorial collections

Donating in memory at your loved one’s funeral or memorial service is a meaningful way for family and friends to celebrate their life.

You can create an online funeral notice where guests can find service details, share messages, and make donations in lieu of flowers.

Setting up an online funeral notice is easy to do. To begin, simply fill out this short form.

We can also provide materials to help you collect donations, including:

  • donation envelopes to allow people to Gift Aid, increasing their donation by 25% at no extra cost
  • collection boxes for services and events
  • information about how donations support people living with muscle wasting conditions

If you would like to receive any of these materials, please fill in this form.

Pin badges are also available through our shop.

Our pin badges offer a simple and meaningful way for family and friends to honour someone special. Proceeds from each badge help fund our services, ensuring your loved one’s impact lives on.

If you’ve already held a collection, you can pay in donations online or by cheque through the post. Kindly make cheques payable to: Muscular Dystrophy UK, 32 Ufford Street, London, SE1 8QD. Please include a cover letter with your cheque explaining in whose memory the gift is in so we can thank you.
