The Oxford Muscle Service at John Radcliffe Hospital is recognised by Muscular Dystrophy UK as a Centre for Research and Clinical Excellence. The neuromuscular multi-disciplinary team based at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford is made up of adult and paediatric neurologists, cardiologists, respiratory specialists, physiotherapists, care advisors, surgeons, genetics counsellors.

The Oxford Neuromuscular team have extensive involvement with national and international groups involved with development of “best practice” in the treatment and care of children and adults living with neuromuscular conditions.

The service is regularly involved in national and international clinical trials.

How to access the service

All referrals for new patients must be made by the patients GP or current medical specialist in writing to the appropriate consultant. Existing patients can use the information provided to them in their clinic letter to contact the relevant person.
