Muscular Dystrophy Awareness month

Stronger together

September is Muscular Dystrophy Awareness month, a fantastic opportunity for us to come together and shine a spotlight on muscle wasting conditions.

Throughout the month, we’ll be increasing awareness, sharing stories and raising vital funds to support our work.

Spread awareness and get involved

Our muscles matter. We need them to walk, eat, smile, breathe – to live. But over 110,000 people in the UK live with a muscle wasting condition which gradually damages the way their muscles work. And over time stops them from living everyday life. In some cases, lives will be cut short. There is currently no cure for any muscle wasting condition.

What is muscular dystrophy?
Muscular dystrophy is the name given to a group of rare, progressive conditions that cause muscles to weaken and waste over time. This Awareness Month, learn more about muscular dystrophy and muscle wasting conditions.

Share your story

Telling your story has the power to inspire and give hope to others and remind them that they are not alone. Sharing your experience can also explain why support is needed and the difference it can make.

Fundraise your way

There are so many ways you can fundraise for people living with a muscle wasting condition – no idea is too big or too small. We’re here to support with everything you need.
