There are still over 50 muscle wasting conditions for which there are no treatments. And too many people face the uncertainty of waiting a long time for a diagnosis – or don’t get one at all.
To change this, we need to urgently fund more groundbreaking research. Research that leads to faster diagnosis and accelerates the development of new and better treatments for those like Oscar and Seb. And it’s with the generous support of people like you that this can be made doubly possible this week.

We need our muscles to walk, eat, smile, breathe – to live.
Over 110,000 people in the UK live with a muscle wasting condition which gradually damages the way their muscles work. And over time stops them from living everyday life. In some cases, lives will be cut short.
There is no cure for any muscle wasting condition. But for the first time there are new treatments being developed which can slow the progression or reduce the impact of some conditions. Just 10 years ago, there were no treatments specifically for muscle wasting conditions. Today, there are eight. That’s progress – but it’s not enough.
