Support Groups

Our peer support volunteers understand what you are going through, no matter how rare your condition. They all have a personal experience of living with a muscle wasting condition.

Our network of local groups, known as Muscle Groups. They meet regularly across the UK, either on Zoom or in person. They are a supportive and confidential space. Ask questions, share knowledge and connect with others with experience of muscle wasting and weakening conditions in your area. All are welcome including friends, family and carers.

We have Muscle Groups in 10 regions of England and in the devolved countries of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Are you a young person living with a muscle wasting condition in the UK? Between the ages of 18-30? Our WhatsApp support groups are here for you. Share experiences, chat and make friends with people of a similar age.

Join us online for our monthly young adult catch up’s. For people age 18-30 living with a muscle wasting or weakening condition. Meet other young adults who also know what it’s like to live with a muscle wasting condition.

Open to individuals aged 30 and over living with a muscle wasting or weakening condition in the UK. Share experiences, chat and make friends with people of a similar age.

Open to people aged 65 and over, living with a muscle wasting or weakening condition in the UK. Hear about how we can support you. Meet others who also know what it’s like to live with a muscle wasting condition.

For parents of children living with muscle wasting conditions and muscular dystrophy. Parents of children of any age are welcome. A supportive and safe environment. Share your story, ask questions, get advice and talk about the issues that matter to you.

Our Neuromuscular Awaaz Support Group connects members of the South Asian community, who are affected by muscle-wasting conditions, across the UK.

For people and their families, living with a muscle wasting or weakening condition, who speak Welsh. Hear about how we can support you. Meet others who also know what it’s like to live with a muscle wasting condition.

Join our informal support group for people living with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD). Regular meetings, usually on Zoom. Share your experiences of DMD. Exchange support and advice.
