‘Checking your chest if you’re disabled’: new health information in collaboration with CoppaFeel!
27 October 2026
This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’re delighted to share a new online guide we’ve been working on with breast cancer awareness charity CoppaFeel!
Breast cancer can happen to anyone. Including those living with a muscle wasting condition, or any disability which may impact the ability to check your chest. That’s why we’ve been collaborating with CoppaFeel! on this new health resource: Checking your chest if you’re disabled.
Who is it for?
Our collaboration with CoppaFeel! started with a conversation about how people can check their chest if they don’t have the sensation of touch or the ability to apply pressure. How can you check in a different way? Who should you ask to help?
“Checking your chest should be accessible; just because you’re disabled doesn’t mean you can’t get breast cancer.”

The chest checking information that has been developed is for people who may experience reduced movement or sensation in their upper limbs or body. The online resource looks at reasons people may need to check in a different way, provides tips for checking your chest, and aims to reduce barriers to getting support.
Stronger together
Acknowledging and addressing existing health inequities and societal barriers is important to us and the team at CoppaFeel! Together, we want health information and resources that are tailored, relevant and accessible for all. In this case, new checking guidance for people who may need assistance.
The online resource has been informed and guided by input from people living with disabilities, with support from Medical Advisors.
Together, we want to educate, encourage, and empower people to get to know their bodies and check their chest, in a way that they’re able to.
